I'm sure glad I don't have to shave my legs or armpits.

Almost same here. It's $24 now and used to be $16 just a few years ago before the pandemic. But like I said, coupons come up on FB for $15 so I wait for those. And like salyavin says it's just a cut, no shampoo or anything. They'll put in mousse or gel if you ask them but I go home immediately to rinse out the little hairs before they fall into my collar and prickle my neck.A standard haircut at Great Clips near me (it will vary by region, I bet it is cheaper in Michigan) is $26 this is before any tip. A child or 65 and older is $24 also plus tip. This is on the low end. No shampoo, no rinse, no blowdry, just trimming hair at Noriko's salon is $40 before tip and she tries to be cheap. Prices have risen a lot these last 5 years, before corona at the same place I could get a haircut for $18 before tip and kids were $16. The cost of living varies a fair bit in the US, I am not in california or new york but I am in a fairly expensive area. Been too long since I had a haircut in Japan so I cannot comment on price.
I think he needs to 'manscape' his 'mune', too!
What is the barber shaving other than one's face…a haircut including shaving and facial shaving costs 2,500 yen.
I'd never let anyone within 1 metre of my neck with one of those!View attachment 127943Used to be one would go to the barber for a straight razor shave and a haircut.

I went to a barber in Japan once who used the straight razor for the haircut. No scissors. It was quite impressive. And all the more exciting since I was putting my life on the line.I'd never let anyone within 1 metre of my neck with one of those!
