I have recently been shortlisted by this company, and have a beautiful offer at hand.
But, I have not been able to verify if the company is genuine or not.
I need help in verifying this company

Sumitomo are a huge group with fingers in many pies. If you try googling the address, you'll see many different unrelated websites giving the same address.
I don't think you need to worry about their legitimacy.

So, Can u pls verify that 'sumitomo corporation' of sumitomo group that deals with intensive trading is situated at this address and also that the phone is genuine,

I have received communication from HR of Sumitomo Corporation.
They recruited through the Indian Consultancy service.
They asked for me to apply for a Japanese work pass.
So, all those things are quite genuine.

What I want to verify is that this channel through which I am receiving communication is genuine or not.
[email protected] or [email protected](Indian Consultancy service) are where the communication is going on.
So, I want your opinion to take this big step in my career.

You're right to be suspicious. sumitomocorp.info domain was only registered a couple months ago via a U.S. registrar Domains by Proxy which has many complaints of fraud.

They are using Sumitomo's good name and legitimate information to lure you in. Congratulations on spotting the scam.

I suggest asking the person where they are located. If they claim they are in Otemachi, ask them for a direct dial number where you can call them.
If they claim they can't give it out, then ask them for the main number (which should be the same as above) and tell them you'll call the switchboard and reach them that way. What is the name they gave you?

the name of the person is legitimate sumitomo corporation AGM as per linkedin, no further information revealed

I agree with @mdchachi that sumitomocorp.info is highly suspicious. I doubt that Sumitomo would ever consider using the crappy services of GoDaddy for domain registration. Besides, no legitimate company would use the .info extension. We banned .info registrations on our website because they all turned out shady.

Also, the names of Sumitomo executives can easily be found online and used for malicious purposes.

Well if you want to pursue it, I recommend insisting on them giving you a number so that you can call them directly. Or try contacting the real person via LinkedIn and let them know you want to confirm their identity.

exactly, that is why it is confusing because the site that is redirected is legit sumitomo, but their domain is scrappy

Finally, it was found that this channel is not part of the main sumitomo corp!

I was able to contact the Sumitomo headoffice to verify this channel with which I was recruited, and then it was found out that it was a Scam
