Little Island Takara is the personal travel and photography blog of Laura, a Puerto Rican writer, photographer, and editor who has documented her life in Okinawa since 2012. Originally launched as Inspiration. Sparks, before her move to Japan, relaunched the site as Little Island Takara in 2015, taking its name from the Japanese word takara ("treasure") to reflect a collection of treasured memories and experiences. The blog focuses on Okinawa, travel throughout Japan and Asia, military life, photography, and practical advice for visitors and expatriates, and has become a well-regarded resource for discovering the islands through vivid photography, detailed itineraries, and local insights.
