xbox 360's specs

sounds bloody powerful to me. what blows me away is the 3 CPUs at 3.2 GHz each. this sounds far more powerful than even the most powerful desktop PC available on the market today!

is there a catch? will people be able to program games effeciently/make use of the new hardware? why aren't desktop PCs going down this path?

The reason why there are three processors is to compensate for the custom made ATI video card. Plus a computer has many more functions to run as well. The X-Box 360 is strictly for gaming so having all three processors going just towards that alone is not that hard to imagine. Just remember though that Sony has confirmed that their system will be running on nine CPUs at one time. That alone has made me pretty stoked to see what their system is going to be like this week when it's unveiled at E3. ^___^

Also they often say stuff like this. The original specs they release and then the specs they really release it with do vary. They always state higher on the first press release.

Though it will still be something similar.

Im not getting one though. Im happy with my PC and laptop for games atm. I like my internet to much.
