I found this site about a program called WWOOF (WWOOF JAPAN - Home).

Does anyone know any usefull information about this site or its program?

It sound's like a take off on the old HIPPY commune> My Niece is at one now in Costa Rica. She says you don't work all that hard and you have time to yourself each day, BUT the foods not that great and the living conditions are primative & you can get ripped off pretty easy. Someone stole her passport and caused her a lot of grief. You still have to pay for your transportation to ahd from etc. I would try and talk to people who paid their money and did the whole thing to get an idea if it's legit!
