Welcome to your new home

Hi,
Knowing that Japanese has set phrases for certain social protocols, I wondered if there was a particular phrase for when writing a 'welcome to your new home' card for people who have just moved in next door?

The tradition here is that the new residents visit the people already in the neighborhood, taking along some small gifts and apologizing for the disruption they have caused by all the hubbub associated with moving in. I've never heard of people doing what you're talking about.

Yeah, therefore there is no set phrase for that situation in Japanese. If I were you, I would write お隣へようこそ[Otonari e youkoso] on the card.

The situation is a little different as I am not in Japan but in the UK, where it is normal to welcome your neighbours (who are Japanese in this case).

I understand that. But surely you can see that the lack of a similar custom in Japan would also mean the lack of a certain set phrase to cover the situation in Japanese.

I think they will be quite happy if welcomed to the neighborhood even in English.
