weather and clothing

Hey everyone!! Well finally my dream is coming true and after a year of hard work I'm traveling to Japan on march 25. So I was wondering how's the weather around Kyoto, Yokohama and Tokyo and what kind of clothing should I bring? I hope someone can help me out (^-^)/
Another thing, sorry I just remember, I'm a 26 year old girl and I'm traveling on my own, are there any places not that safe to go alone? And does anyone have any advice for me? Thanks any comment will be helpful (^-^)v

I'm glad to hear you are finally going to Japan! The weather all over the world has been a bit off these years, so it's kinda of hard to say. On average it's around 15 degrees in Kyoto and in Tokyo it will be about the same. Get yourself some jackets that you can easily take of when it gets warmer!

What will you be doing, and for how long will you stay in Japan?

Hey thankes. Well I'll visit the tempes and other touristic spots. I will stay from march 25 to april 4. I was thinking about bringing some sweaters and a jacket. I'm just afraid I might be hot if the weather gets warmer, so maybe should I bring some t-shirts?

Not all temples are equally geared toward tourists. Some actively cater to tourist traffic (to the point of having parking lots for tour buses and running television commercials preparatory to the lucrative New Year season). Most temples are not tourist destinations, but are more comparable to a small neighborhood church. No temple will turn you away or make you feel unwelcome, but you need to be aware that they are not all equally interesting to the tourist. Also keep in mind that while the temples do welcome everyone, a large portion of the Japanese tourists are there for sincere religious purposes.

Personally, I have always enjoyed the non-touristy temples the most. They're not the most scenic or impressive, but they have the advantage of peace and quiet as there is seldom if ever anyone else around. But when visiting for such a short time it might be best to visit the more famous and spectacular temples. If you have time, though, please try to drop by one of the neighborhood non-touristy temples so you can experience the contrast (and get an idea what the vast majority of temples in Japan are like....the famous and touristy spots are a very small minority).
