Walk entire Tokaido 2022/23

I am planning to walk the entire Tokaido from Tokyo to Kyoto in November. Even though many counties have opened up for overseas tourists, Japan still has tough travel restriction as tourists need to join the guided group and obtain travel visa.

Since I have planned this trip for more than 2 years, my friends suggest me to raise fund via Kickstarter. So I set up a Kickstarter page for raising fund for supporting part of my trip and donation to 3 Japanese charities:

1. Japan Civic Network of Disaster Relief in East Japan (311 earthquake)
2. Kumamoto Earthquake Relief Project
3. The Adachi Institute of Woodcut Prints

No matter the Kickstarter project will be finally succeed or not, I will keep updating these social media. But gifts/rewards will be delivered once the crowdfunding project reached the target.

Interesting project! I have friends who cycled the Tokaido and walked the Nakasendo.

Japan is currently experiencing its seventh Covid-19 wave, and, as you pointed out, there are still significant restrictions imposed on foreign tourism. I doubt that Japan will open to individual tourists this year.

I assume you are in China (though you seem to use a Tokyo-based VPS): if you are based in Japan, you could also use Campfire for crowdfunding.
