Hello everyone
I am currently staying in Japan and i seem to be enjoying myself to the fullest. So i decided that i want to stay longer. The problem is that i am here on a 3month tourist visa and it will expire in a month.
So i was wondering if there is a visa i can apply for that will let me stay in japan without me having to return to my homecountry first to request the visa.
I alraidy tried the working visa, but to get sponsership for those i was told that you have to have atleast 10 years of experience or a college degree.
So what about the;
cultural visa?
Musician visa
entertainment visa
or the student visa?
is it possible to apply for those while being in japan?

What sort of work are you interested in? Teaching often requires only the Specialist in Humanities/International Relations work visa, and you can get that with EITHER a bachelor's degree (or equivalent) OR 3 years of experience. Other work visas may require 5 or 10 years of experience, so please clue us in to help you more thoroughly.

You do NOT have to leave Japan to process the work visa. Apply, and you can stay even past your tourist status if immigration takes that long.

Cultural visa requires that someone sponsor you. Qualifications are pretty general, and no degree is required. Same with student visa (in which case the sponsor is the school that accepts you, providing you can pay all the necessary funding).

For UK citizens, we can apply (whilst in Japan) for a 6 month extension to the 3 month holiday Visa - so long as you agree not to stay over the extra 6 months or take paid work (yaddayaddaya) I think this is probably the same with other western european countries.
