My Japanese friend, Tomoko, used this phrase in an e-mail yesterday, just wondered if anybody could shed some light on what it means?

"watashi yottyattamitaide zennzenn kizukanakattann desuyo"

Cheers,

Tomodachi

Err...maybe something along the lines of: I looked totally drunk but nobody noticed at all.

Not quite.

"It seems I was drunk, and (so) I didn't notice at all." I'm assuming that she's referring to something that should be clear from the context.

Re: context

Yeah, that would make perfect sense. I saw her in the city one night and she didn't look back when I shouted her. Guess she really was drunk!

On that note, have any other gaijin noticed that their Japanese friends are like a million times funnier when they've had a few drinks?! My friend Tomoharu turns into a crazy, party-loving animal when he's drunk. He has this weird 'shuffling' dance move going on all the time .... Hehe! Well, just a mild observation!
