SO I am trying to use some new vocabulary I am studying but can't wrap my head around this sentence.

Eng: I will try to persuade him to go the shrine in the valley for me.
I have 2 basic clauses here
私のためにたににじんじゃに行く。
彼をせっとくしようとします。

So now I want to merge these to into one sentence.

私のためにたににじんじゃに行く。。「ここに何が入るかな」。。彼をせっとくしようとします。

The answer I got from the misses is ように。

the 私のために part is kind of like "for my sake," it makes it seem like you're trying to get them to go to the shrine perhaps to pray on your behalf, is that what you mean?

Also, if you want to use に, it would be 谷にある神社 (a/the shrine in the valley). Otherwise, I would say 谷の神社 (the valley shrine).

The rest is fine, and ように is a good way to link that sort of structure together. I would maybe say 彼に谷の神社に行ってもらおうとします。

Yeah pretty much, "to do something on behalf of another" e.g. go to the store, mail a letter, pay a bill.

Also, if you want to use に, it would be 谷にある神社 (a/the shrine in the valley). Otherwise, I would say 谷の神社 (the valley shrine).

I forgot to correct that. I don't know why I still struggle with that ni particle.
EDIT: I was trying to determine if の or に would work better. But I wanted emphasize location. (it's not called "The Valley Shrine" But is located in the valley.)

I think ように is fine.

However, I think 「彼をせっとくしようとします。」part is awkward.

I think 「彼を説得します。」 is more natural to mean "I will try to persuade him" in this sentence, although the literal translation is "I will persuade him."

Otherwise, there is 「彼を説得したいと思います。」
Literally, "I wish/hope to persuade him" but with suggestion of determination--therefore, translated into "will try to persuade."

Thanks everyone.

I am learning some new grammar points and vocabulary and 説得する、とする are 2 of the points I am learning.
