I understand the concept of ru and u verbs, where with ru verbs you drop the ru and replace it with masu or masen ect, while with u verbs you replace the u with i (いきます from いく for example), but what if it's an u verb that just ends with the single syllable of u?
An example would be あう (to meet)... would I simply replace the う with い to make あいます? Or would I drop the u to make あます?
Thanks for the help, have a test in a few hours and just trying to get a good understanding of everything.
