User tagging

Dear valued Members,

we have implemented a new feature which we hope you'll find useful in discussions: user tagging.
It works very similar to how Twitter mentions people: just use an @ in front of the username you want to mention in your post (no space). The user in question will then be notified of his handle being mentioned in a post.

User tag list

I want to mention user tagging once again, as it's a handy feature:

If you want to get the attention of particular users you can mention them in the "user tag list" just beneath each thread. See the image below.



They will then be notified of your thread or post.

After the forum conversion to Xenforo, user tagging is still available, it is actually part of Xenforo's core. Just add an "at-sign" (@) in front of the user name of the member you are addressing.

1. Don't put a space between the at-sign and the user name: @thomas.
   
2. If you use honorifics, please separate them from the user name: @Tanaka san.
3. Tagged users will receive an alert when they are tagged.
4. On entering the at-sign in a post you will see a selection of user names depending on your input.
