I've learned regular 1 and regular 2 verbs as godan and ichidan. I wanted to know which( reg.1 and reg.2) is ichidan and which is godan.
also, i was looking through my text and i saw a verb in it's te form, "かんで"
i guessed maybe it's root form would be "かぶ", but i was wrong. what is the root form of かんで?

The dictionary form of かんで will be かむ.
I get confused over group 1 and 2 too. It always seems to be backwards. I can't remember which is which right now so I guess I'm not much help. I think if you just learn godan and ichidan you should be fine.

This is something from another Japanese language learner. It might be of your help?
