Would someone be so kind as to translate the words of this song into Japanese (English lettered words, not Japanese writing) for me? THANKS in advance!

"From sinking sand,
He lifted me.
With tender hand,
He lifted me.
From shades of night
to plains of light,
O praise His Name,
He lifted me!"

One idea.

沈みゆく砂の中
抱きかかえ

優しい手の中
包み込み

夜の闇
眩き大地

名を刻み込む
導きしあなたを

Thank you, Pipokun. Is it possible to turn that into English words instead of Japanese characters?

the reason why I wrote in japanese was that your poem is hard to translate and i also want to hear other opinions.
maybe it would be related to christianity, i suppose.

Your poem holds double meaning suggesting love with undertones of love of God and of love for a human person.

This makes translation in Japanese difficult because double-entendre is "lost in translation."

If you give a clear explanation of what it means, then someone can provide you a good translation.

Ahhh, now I understand. Thank you both. I know so little about the way your language works. Ok, let me try again:
"From sinking sand,
He(God) lifted me.
With tender hand,
He(God) lifted me.
From shades of night
to plains of light,
O praise His(God's name) Name,
He(God) lifted me!"

And yes, it is a Christian song chorus. Since I originally posted, I read about Romaji translations, which I think is what I'm asking for. Please forgive my ignorance!!!!

I added a bit to pipokun's translation:

沈みゆく砂の中から (Shizumi yuku suna no naka kara)
抱きかかえてくれた (Dakikakaete kureta)

優しい手の中に (Yasashii te no naka ni)
包み込んでくれた (Tsutsun'de kureta)

夜の闇から (Yoru no yami kara)
光の大地へ (Hikari no daichi e)

導きし主の (Michibikishi shu no)
名をたたえよ (Na o tatae yo)

Pippokun's translation is lyrical and is not an exact translation (but the message is the same).

Hope it helps!

I happened to watch CBS's program about Gospel and Gospel Rock? (correct me if I am wrong) in your country before I posed my translation that.
I knew that your poem was about the christianity, and I tried to put some connotations about it.
The reason why I said it's untranslatable was the rhymes in your poem/lyric. I'm not a Christian or poet, but it is, indeed, interesting. Waiting for other opinions.

If the sound would be like a garage or punkish gospel, I would be pleased to help you more.

Epigine and Pipokun, THANK YOU again so much!

Actually this is a very old song (the author lived between 1856 and 1932) before rock music was invented! The first verse says,
"In loving kindness Jesus came,
My soul in mercy to reclaim,
And from the depths of sin and shame,
Through grace He lifted me."

*HUGS HUGS* Thank you!
