Hello,
I'm in desperate need of the English translation of this short section of Kiki's Delivery Service. I know all the meanings of the kanji, but the translation is not so good.
I need this as fast as possible if anyone can help. Thank you so much in advance,
ブランドン
I've not watched the movie in like 10 years, and have no idea what the lead to the conversation, nor where it's going...
One day, Kiki, who will turn 13 this year, was told "It's been decided for tonight! Take off!" by Kuroneko Jiji. Kiki is a girl born to Okino-san and Kokiri-san, the witch.
But, there seems to be a confusion in subject/object:
「今夜に決めたは!! 出発よ!」今年13歳を迎えるキキは、ある日、黒猫のジジにそう言いました。
Kiki, who will be 13 this year, told Jiji the black cat one day, "I've decided tonight. It's time to go/depart!"
I'd probably say "I've decided on tonight" or something of the like. Without the "on", it sounds like tonight is when she made the decision (Which would be 「今夜決めた」, right?), instead of meaning that she's decided that tonight is going to be the night (that she takes off).
Unless I'm mistaken, which is of course entirely possible.
I didn't think too carefully. Actually, I've seen Neko no Takkyubin only once long time ago on TV. The only Miyazaki film I like is Tonari no Totoro...
