How would you translate these sentences?
1. それで買おうと思ったら、そのとなりあるのが良さそうに見えたんだ。
2. 割れそうに茶碗の音をさせている。

Yeah well they are odd / difficult.

When I went to by that the one next to it seemed to be good.
(So maybe the speaker bought the other one instead).

2. 割れそうに茶碗の音をさせている。
? Making it sound like a tea cup when it was about to break ?

誰かがその茶碗を、割ってしまうほど乱暴に扱っている。
(だから大きな音が鳴っている)
or
茶碗が割れてしまうほど大きな音が鳴っている。

かな?? :? 英語があってるかどうかわからないけど。

Hmm, yes that makes a bit more sense.

How about "Ringing the tea cup (so roughly) that it is likely to break" ?
Although it could be the loud sound one.
