In my opinion if you could get professor consent, and could finish all the required documents (toefl, recommendation letters, etc which are quite difficult to get) soon (within this or next week) you will not be too late to apply.
I have sent my application to Titech using EMS and they said it would take only 3-5 days to get to Tokyo. So don't worry

so its been a month since i emailed my first professor but he hasn't replied do you think I should move on to the next professor regardless of a reply like you did? because thepie and frna thought that i should wait for the professor to reply back so before moving on to the next prof. I'm really confused now.. I emailed the professor last night too, asked him to tell me once and for all if i'm being considered or if i was rejected. I personally think there should be a more appropriate process for admissions.
And another thing. Can we apply to an Associate Professor even though they run their own labs? I know that we're supposed to apply to professors but in the dept of architecture theres a brilliant associate professor whose practice has really inspired me in my own work too. Do you think I'm allowed to email him?

Hey guys, yesterday I got an email from the professor, that say "I am pleased to become your advisory professor when you are selected as an IGP student. Please submit all documents including the printed portfolio before the deadline."

I am pretty surprised that you had an interview before the deadline of the submission. There is a problem with my TOEFL score, it seems that Titech hasn't received my score from ETS. I wonder why, too, why it takes so long to reach Titech.. slightly worried now..
I want to ask, if we have all the required document (What I mean is, if we have no problem with the application documents), are we sure to be interviewed? Or is there screening process in document that only, for example, the best 50 candidates that will be interviewed? Thank you
Hi, I think you may ask ETS again about the TOEFL score to ensure that TiTech receives your score before the deadline.
About the interview: I think this depends on the Department. My department required me send the soft copy of the documents and after that they had an interview me. I do not know whether they interview all applicants or just applicants who passed the screening, however, I think they interview all and take into account as the selection.
About my interview: Two Professors just asked about my research in the past, research plan, and some questions as why I chose TiTech?... my inverview lasts in about 30 minutes.
Yes I asked ETS but they haven't replied yet. So after long discussion with the titech admission division, they said that they could take my toefl student copy report (scan) to be used as a provisional document regarding my condition.
I see, so it is different between department. Prof that give me consent said that the interview will be about foundation of computer science (my major), so I think I need to prepare it by studying againThank you, I hope we could get our best
I faced the same issue littleflow3r, I sent my IELT's through british council and they have delayed sending the scores so i sent the admission division my scanned copy of my result and they said they'll accept it temporarily along with my original documents,
And i had the same question too? are all of the students asked to give the interview? or will they shortlist further from the applicants?

First of all I wanted to say thank you properly, since I kept reading this thread over and over again but never said anything here. I submitted my application to TITECH and had my interview yesterday, but unfortunately I feel I didn't do so well, I was really nervous and the last question wasn't clear for me so I wasn't sure of what to answer...at the end of the interview the proffesors asked me about what are my plans in case I don't get the scholarship so.... I'm not the happiest person right now T·T . My adviser confirmed me that only one or two applicants will receive the scholarship in the department, and told me about other options for scholarship.
Anyway, I will most probably get the admission to TITECH, so I'm considering going as a privately financed student. I've read some topics here about part-time jobs and the permission needed to work in japan as a student, but I'm also looking for someone here that can share his/her experience as a privately financed student in TITECH.
