Yes right? Teacher also told me it was 3 march also. recently I've emailed to my host Japanese university to ask about the situation of MEXT announcement. They have sent the emailed back and said that MEXT informing them that announcement is being delayed for about a week or so. they are also waiting for announcement too! my school just said that there was just no response yet, they could not tell the time estimate. I wonder how it will turn out, our semester starts on April 4, there is no time to sign pledge etc...Hello guys, I just got the email from admission division, they said Scholarship will be announced by the end of March, 2021.

mine is Waseda, but the deadline should be the same for all schools I think. It was supposed to be early March initially for the April semester. I wonder what other universities know about it, seems like this is the only live thread here.Which university did u apply to? Best of luck for you!

That's strange, i feel like they actually mean preliminary scholarship announcement, universities will probably inform us if we are officially recommended to MEXT by the end March, since the previous emails seems to stress that we only passed the screening and we will then be recommended to MEXT.Hello guys, I just got the email from admission division, they said Scholarship will be announced by the end of March, 2021.

Thank you! also the deadline to submit pledge for my uni is March 11 electronic copy, and March 15 hardcopy by post. So you guys don't wait until May, it says deadline is strict, and we may lose it if we are lateCongratss

Hi Magaji. You would need to clarify at your school at which stage your application process is. The content of the emails is simply congratulations, etc., I had to clarify from my school what it meant each time. So for me it was three emails. First congratulations email came from my graduate school, turns out it is just nomination by the graduate school within university (not actually nominating to MEXT). After that one you may have had an interview. Second congratulating email was about nominating from the university level (higher level from your graduate school). And then there was a third congratulations email, which meant confirmation from MEXT. So, just ask your school directly, the wording in those emails can be ambiguous.
