those on the table VS. the ones on the table

Would these be used interchangeably?
(a) The bananas in the box are better than those on the table.
(b) The bananas in the box are better than the ones on the table.

Yep. I would opt for the first one since it's easier to say, but as far as meaning goes they're identical.
