The influx of inbound tourists to winter resorts in Hokkaido and Nagano has resulted in prices that are beyond astronomic.

Ramen bowls of up to JPY 4,000 are shown on TV every day. Other extreme examples (found on X) are late-night meals at the Ritz-Carlton in Niseko.
  • Wagyu Cheese Burger JPY 9,600
  • Vegetarian sandwich JPY 5,600
  • Green salad JPY 3,900
  • Onigiri JPY, 2,100

I hope this trend remains restricted to the "inbound enclaves".

It's the late night menu. When you gotta have a Wagyu burger at midnight what else can you do?
