Would both sentences sound natural? Would both be interchangeable?
(a) The city government supplied the victims of the earthquake with food.
(b) The city government provided the victims of the earthquake with food.

In this case I think both sentences would be interchangable. I had to look up the difference between supply and provide and it seems that supply is active provision. Sometimes they aren't interchangable, like in talk of a supply-chain, not a provision-chain, but I think in these two sentences they would be.
