After I saw the trailer, I thought: I NEED TO SEE THIS!

and I am sure some other people thought the same about it. So here is some extra info:

'The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe' follows the exploits of the four Pevensie siblings - Lucy, Edmund, Susan and Peter - in World War II England who enter the world of Narnia through a magical wardrobe while playing a game of "hide-and-seek" in the rural country home of an elderly professor. Once there, the children discover a charming, peaceful land inhabited by talking beasts, dwarfs, fauns, centaurs and giants that has been cursed to eternal winter by the evil White Witch, Jadis. Under the guidance of a noble and mystical ruler, the lion Aslan, the children fight to overcome the White Witch's powerful hold over Narnia.

I hope the new movie can hold up to the old movie versions, I don't know who was in those versions but they're what made me fall in love with The Chronicles of Narnia. I had the biggest crush on Edmund back then
So I really hope this version is good...and if it isn't I'll just run from the theatre to the movie store, dig up the old versions, get 'em and watch 'em again. I kinda need to do that anyway but yeah.

I still remember reading the books as a kid. I remember wanting to try Turkish Delight so bad...I'm not sure if I'll see this, but I'd love to know who's going to be voicing Aslan. I thougth about James Earl Jones, but then Mufasa comes to mind.

I can't help but wonder if they plan on making a movie per book? The books combined were nowhere near as long as say, the Lord of the Rings, so I doubt they'd have enough authentic material for separate movies.

The old movies covered I think the first half at least of the series. I don't remember. I know they at least got as far as The Silver Chair 'cause it was my favorite besides The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. I used to get it every other week from the Library 'cause it was the only one they had there. I miss those movies. Will have to find them and buy them. *is lost in memories*

Oh and I found a cast list (not who they play alas but a list) for the original movies:
Sophie Wilcox, Jonathan R. Scott, Richard Dempsey, Sophie Cook, Barbara Kellerman, Michael Aldridge, Ailsa Berk, William Todd Jones, Jeffrey S. Perry, Ronald Pickup, Kerry Shale, Lesley Nicol
And they were made in 1988. Wow, they're older then I thought. But I do hope the new one is good...I'm trying not to be too compartive between it and the old ones based on its trailer. I wanna try and hold off judgment 'til I see it.

Well, I've never read the books, never heard of Narnia before, but, judging from the trailer, it sure looks darn interesting! Certainly worth investigating when the movie comes out!

I used to read the books by Tolkein and Lloyd Alexander and the Narnia series regularly. Can't wait to see how well they made this movie. I think the director of Shrek 2 directed this one. Should be interesting.

I can't wait to see it either. And speaking of Llyod Alexander somebody needs to make movies of The Prydain Chronicles (and no those crappy animated ones don't count) especially The Castle of Llyr...'cause it's my favorite

The author of the Chronicles of Narnia was C.S.Lewis, he was British... I browsed a book on the making of the new movie last week and as I recall it is filmed at various locations throughout the world... There have been several movies made... I think the 1988 one was the BBC version...

He also wrote a sf series Perelandra, That Hideous Strength, Out of the Silent Planet... but IMHO none of his other works ever came close to the Narnia series...

Yeah, I agree. I'd like to see them made into movies, but only with the same care and dedication like the Lord of the Rings was made.

I've never read the books, but I did see the cartoon movie/show they made for it years back as a kid.

I WILL be seeing this moving opening night. We have an awesome theater near my house, it's going to ******* rule.
