I just wanted to give a big thank you for your honest (and sometimes blunt) opinions. I used to think that you were too blunt before, but looking back I realized it was just my own laziness.

I've been studying japanese alot lately. I got a new phone, an android. I downloaded the PDF of Kim Tae's japanese on it. I downloaded a writing program to practice writing kana. And I got a japanese dictionary. I am practing conjugation plain verb. Things are making lalot more sense now.,

If someone could please give me some practice questions or point me in the right directions , Id appreciate it.

I am recognizing alot more kanji now too.

For example, "iku" is a irreugegur verb

Taberu -
'Ru" verb
"U" verb. Varies, conjugation is different for each type of verb.

Tabeta - ate

Hanasu. -> hanashita (past tense, talked)

I understand "ga" more now too.

For esample, it emphases the subject. It points out "who". I understand it better.

Nihongo ga benkyou shimasu. 日本語 が
勉強します
It is japanese that I study.

Nihongo wa benkyou shimasu. 日本語は勉強します
As for me, (I) study japanese.

Is this not corect? 正しくない

日本語が勉強します would mean that Japanese is studying, so this doesn't make much sense. You want to say that you (subject) study Japanese (object), so you need the object marker for "Japanese" -- 日本語を勉強します. 日本語は勉強します is fine if you mean "(I don't study other languages, but) I study Japanese."

If you're looking for "as for me, (I) study Japanese" you need "I" in there -- 私は日本語を勉強します, but most of the time you probably don't need to say 私は.

Yes, that's right. But remember, it means that you're talking about a dog that in some sense belongs to the person you're talking to. For instance, maybe it's actually their dog, or maybe it's just standing next to them, or it's just closer to them.

The ru-verb(godan verb/consonant verb) "taberu" doesn't exist. "Taberu" ALWAYS cunjugates as an u-verb(ichidan verb/vowel verb).

Does tae kim japanese have practice problems.? I could not find any

thank you I noticed the kanji were different it is confusing . do you know of any online study guides with practice problems? I am using tae kims japanese
yes glenn I understood that it is beginning to make sense now. I downloaded tae kim's pdf onto my android. but I must practice more. I am studying everywhere
