Suica/Pasmo - Is there any cheaper way travelling by train?

Hey y'all,
I'm new in this forum and I want to say HI to everybody
And here comes my first question:
Is there any season ticket/monthly subscription for JR Railways?
I mean it's incredibly expensive for me to travel by train every day from Chiba to Tokyo.
Around 500 Yen for one way...who the hell can afford that? oO
I would love to get some more information on options regarding my problem!

You need a 窶凖ｨﾅ?ﾃｺﾅ停? (teikiken), which you can easily get at the ticket window of your local station. Just tell them your starting station and destination station and the period you would like (one month, six months, etc).

As Mike says, 定期券 Teiki-ken/season ticket is the best option if you stay and commute for more than a month.

Taking a travel between Tokyo station and China station by JR, for example:
One way: JPY620
Return journey x 20 days (Mon-Fri x 4 weeks) = 620 x 2 x 20 = JPY24,800
Season Ticket for 1 month: JPY18,580 (JPY52,970 fo 43 month, JPY89,210 for 6 months)

What is good about teikiken is that you can use it on weekends too, and you can get on/off without paying extra between Tokyo/Chiba.
If you travel further, you are still able to use the teikiken only by paying the additional fare at the destination.
You can combine Suica + teikiken, then you do not have to pay for adjustment every time, the extra fare will be automatically reduced from the charged amount from Suica when you go through the gate with the Suica/teikiken.

@Mike Cash: I'm from the South, indeed! Beautiful Benz-Town, home of Mercedes Benz, Porsche & Maultauschen (Swabian version of Gyoza)

@undrentide: Thank you for the calculation. It would take exactly 470窶ｰ~ to get from Yachiyodai Station to Nippori Station.
Actually I'll try to find a job near the school, so I'd porbably get my transportation fees covered. Anyway, 窶凖ｨﾅ?ﾃｺﾅ停? is the way to go, right?

Absolutely 定期券 is the way to go. Not buying one is the same as flushing money down the toilet.

Ah, travelling from 八千代台(Yachiyo-dai) to 日暮里 (Nippori) you are taking Keisei line, not JR.
In that case, 定期券 for 1 month is JPY19,170, JPY54,640 for 3 months, JPY54,640 for 6 months.
These are costs for 通勤定期券 (tsuukin teikiken/season ticket for commuting), if you're going to school, you might be eligible for 通学定期券 (tsuugaku teikiken/same for students) which is much cheaper: JPY4,950/1 month, JPY14,000/3 months, JPY26,520/6 months.

Completely off-topic: I do love Maultauschen as well as Spaezle - I used to travel to Pleidelsheim (near Marbach and Freiberg) many times, and loved local food and wine! ;-)

Yesss, Maultaschen, Spaetzle and Schnitzel are really good! I agree
Pleidelsheim is not so far from here, so the local wine and food is not so different.
It surprises me that somebody knows Maultaschen & Spaetzle here, nice ^^
