Culture Stereotypes

I feel the narrator is mostly citing facts, not stereotypes, blended with overgeneralizations. Yes, Toyota is in Aichi. And yes, Nagoya cuisine is famous for its red miso.

Aren't many stereotypes self-fulfilling prophecies? I was told that many Osakans feel pressured outside their hometown, as other Japanese expect them to be funny all the time! But perhaps that's just another stereotype...
 
Yes, you're right. Unless you're very close to the culture being reported, it must be very hard to pull regional stereotypes. I see the author has done one for Germany and Britain!
 
Anyhow, a lot of work has gone into this video, and he's got his facts straight! My wife is from Yokohama, and they generally do think highly of themselves.
