Spouse visa to engineer visa

I am also foreigner guy living in Japan since 10 years.
Here is history of my Visa.
2004 Feb to 2005 (1 year Engineer visa)
2005 Feb to 2008 (3 year Engineer visa)
2008 Feb to 2011 (3 year Engineer visa)
2011 Feb to 2014 (3 year Spouse visa)
I applied for the renewal of spouse visa in Nov 2013 & applied for PR(Permanent Resident) visa also at the same time.
2014 Feb to 2015 (1 year Spouse visa)
I got 1 year visa because I am not living with my wife and son because of my moving job.
I am still working as IT engineer continuously even if I changed to spouse visa.
Today I went to immigration & consulted with reception staff & officer too. The staff person told that if I change to engineer visa then PR will be fast than spouse visa.
The immigration officer told that if I change my visa status to engineer, there is very high chance of getting long visa(3 years) because I have already long engineer visa history in the past.
I asked other PR immigration officer also, he told that you will get merit if you can get 3 years engineer visa but dont know whether I get 3 years engineer visa. He asked me to wait for the result of PR, if it fails then I can change to enginner visa and and reapply for PR.Please let me the cooments if anybody has knowledge

That information from immigration makes no sense. Spouse visa (you are married to a Japanese, right?) carries more weight than an work visa because people tend to think your spouse keeps you in the country longer than any job. Your 10 years of uninterrupted work is very strong in your favor for PR, no matter what visa you have.

Are you currently waiting to hear whether you got PR? If not, apply.

I have only 1 years spouse visa now. But I hope my 10 years of uninterrupted engineer work will be a strong point.

Yes I applied for PR in Nov end of 2013. I am waiting for the result. Immigration told to wait for another 3 months.
The PR officer told me that there will be demerit for PR application because I have only 1year visa.
Another reception person also told me that the result may be fail because I possess only 1 year visa.

Confusing. Your first post said you have a 3-year spouse visa that expires this month. Your next post says you have a 1-year visa. Which is it?

Nothing more you can do anyway, so don't let immigration get you down about your chances for PR. Just wait.

Let me repeat properly once again.
Feb 2004 to Feb 2005 (1 year Engineer visa)

Sorry for confusion. My last 3 years spouse visa is just expired on 15th Feb 2014. Actually, I applied both spouse visa renewal & PR in Nov 2013. Now I got new visa of 1 year from 15th Feb 2014 to 15th Feb 2015.

Thanks. I will wait. I possess 1year visa only which is big demerit for PR.
I just want to know if I change the status to engineer visa and get 3 years visa, will I get merit for the PR?
I want to know if anybody got PR on 1 year visa. Thanks for your kind suggestion
