Two things first off could someone explain to me why when I have chosen the "skin" JRef Tatami my "skin" automatically changed over to JRef 100%

Mmmm.

Next Question;

What is up with the reputation system here? Could someone explain why "points" don't change after someone gave reputation for a post.

Is there a list explaining how the points are accumulated? You know like 1st rep given 10 pts ,2nd rep 15, and so on and so forth.

I have no idea. Try putting it back on Tatami and see if the problem happens again. Unfortunately, that's the best I can tell you. Perhaps someone more knowledgeable will come around soon.

Yeah, it's written on a post somewhere if you dig around long enough. I don't remember exactly, but it's a little more complicated than you have suggested. Rep is "weighted" by a number of factors. Basically rep given away by new people doesn't give as many points as someone who's been a long poster. It may be possible that the points given are also affected by the amount of rep the giver has accumulated.

If I get some time, I'll try to look for that post that describes it in better detail. (Today is a housecleaning day, among other things.)

try setting it in your "my settings" otherwise when you logout it will change versus using the drop down

if you got a gray ball that means that the person who gave you the rep doesnt have enough rep power to increase your points.

rep power = rep + post count + membership duration
im not sure how its figured though

try setting it in your "my settings" otherwise when you logout it will change versus using the drop down

I was in the middle of reading on thread when I switched to keep an eye on a NCAA basketball game score update, when I switched pages back I was still logged in but the "skin" had automatically changed, I wrote this thread using the JREF skin, then after that I went to my settings and tried to change it back, it didn't work the first time but did after the second time.

No biggie really, just a glitch I guess.

Mikawa-san thanks for the links and jeisan yeah it was a "grey" ball, never saw it before and wondered what it was that's all. Thanks for both of your "troubles" here.

Strange, why did I get 'neutral' reputation that didn't add any points?

There aren't any options other than 'I approve' I suppose?
