Not a bad movie has bit of Japanese culture surrounding death of course. There is also a bit of Japanese used in the movie. maybe 6 of 10.

Not really bone chilling or spine tingling, not in the least but has a decent story with a nice ending.

I like it lots and lots. Japanese use good non Hollywood skills as well as other asian countries that go farther than Hollywood.

Well Shutter 2008 is based on the thai film Shutter(2004) whic is waaaaayyyyyyyy more scarier and better. Id suggest it before you give Shutter 2008 such a good rating.

I haven't seen the one from 2004. I should watch it. As of the newer one, I did like it. I agree it wasn't really all that scary but I like the twists and turns. Especially how it ended. I guess it's more of a pyschological film rather than a horror or thriller film.

I've seen the 2004 and it was so great horror movie. One of my favorite. Compare to 2008 which one is better?

I haven't seen the original one and I'm sure it's quite good, but I thought the newer one was very well done, I agree it's not extremely scary but it does have it's spookiness. Very good movie, up there with my others..

I loved Shutter; it was turn-away horrifying and really chilling, and the main character was pretty cute. Haven't seen the remake yet, but they're usually not as good as the original. If a film is good enough that someone would want to remake it, chances are it won't be improved upon.
