Shiina Ringo

i <333 her.

and yes. she removed her mole because of the new image in the new group called tokyo jihen

i kinda miss old ringo

well for me it was special now something's missing

Ringo is one of the best artists to come out of Japan. Why they call her jpop is beyond me because she rocks harder than some visual kei bands

She's in the same caliber as similar acclaimed female artists like PJ Harvey, Fiona Apple, Tori Amos, Bjork etc.

some of her earlier stuff is vanilla soft rock, though. I don't like songs like Koko de Kiss Shite, for example.

I agree. She's definately rock. Maybe her lighter music is a bit popish sometimes but generally she's far from your typical pop singer. Some of my favourite songs by her include:

Meisai
Shuukyou
Kohukuron
Honnoh
Gibbs
Stem

there're far too many to mention. She's by favourite female Jrocker.

Yep Shiina Ringo definately rocks. I love her voice, although I know alot of people who don't saying its annoying.

She's awesome! I love her voice, she is like very jazzy sorta, but it's not jazz obviously. You don't hear of her that much it seems anyway, in Japan.

Much like how some people find Evanescence annoying. Most people complain that Shiina Ringo sounds nasal but personally I just see it as her own twist that makes her so different from most female artists.

After I found a J Rock band I like (Black Horn) now I found a J pop atist I like.

the first song that catch my ear is stem Daimyou Asobi Hen.

Shiina Ringo is one of htose artists that can pull off a song like ringo o uta and make it a work of art. I was informed Ringo no Uta is one of her compilation songs. She made it based on her precviously made songs. That's a Maaya-like performance (see Maaya SAkamoto or Mameshiba & Saigo no Mameshiba for a follow-up) that deserves respect and demands attention.
