Shiina Ringo

I know that's not what they call her in Japan. A friend of mine burned an album of hers for me. I really enjoyed it! It's much different from the music I normally listen to (i.e. Toy Dolls, The Misfits, The Ramones, Iggy Pop, Guns N' Roses...just to name a few. I'm big into rock n' roll and old school punk.)
 
Is your signature not a little too big?
 
Wel she's a really great artist, I also like her music although I hate pop music, she's very good.

I'm new. I changed my signature. I tried changing it before, but there was something wrong with the computer. I don't know if this should be in the j-pop section.

You can't possibly compare these two pictures. The first one is completely staged, with all the lighting in the right place.
The second is just an outdoor picture, even without any flash lighting. On top of that the picture is unsaturated and very low in contrast. She could be wearing tons of make-up and it still would turn out this bad.

Photography is really simple. You can make anyone look hot if you apply the right conditions and that also works the other way.

Uhm, i think she actually might have done so.
At the time of this release: Electric Mole [Regular Edition] Ringo Sheena DVD
...there was an animation on her website of her face with the mole disappearing. I haven't seen any recent pictures of her though, so i'm not sure if it's really gone.

She's currently in a new band called Tokyo Jihen and there is a picture of the band in the Discography section of their site (トップページ), but it's so small, i can't make out if the mole is still there.
 
her voice is horrible. end.
 
I have never heard any of her music, but isn't there a character in Angelic Layer named Shiina Ringo?

edit: never mind I was thinking of Seto Ringo

That's cool. Did you hear any music from her new project Tokyo Jihen yet? And if so is it any good?
 
it's the same band basically as when she did one of her concert dvds, i believe... i've heard a live song by them
 
Does Tokyo Jihen have Shina Ringo in it?
When I watched one of their films, I thought the vocal in the band looked like and sang like Shiina Ringo, and I was right.
THe way she sings is really,,, say unique, that's one thing about her, which attracts many people.

I like her too, she's cool.
To some who think her music is categorize in Pop, it isn't really Pop, it's rather Rock.

Hmmm, well I know FA about Japanese music, I don't know if this is new or 'cool' music, but I've just heard 'Haiiro no Hitomi', personly, it's a great track! I like the melody, the mix of voices, it doesn't sound that 'pop' to me, sounds like a britrock tune that just happens to be in Japanese. Plus, she is fine. Is all their/her music like this? Am I a tuneless fool with no taste?

Tokyo Jihen...I liked it. I t is very similar to Shiina's solo stuff, which i like as well. So I guess if you like her solo stuff, you like the Tokyo Jihen stuff...^-^
 
I don't think she removed her mole. It was paintbrushed off of the Ringo no Uta CD cover, and stuck on the jewel case instead. Ringo's mole is one of her trademarks, I'd personally hate to see it go.

The new Tokyo Jihen cd is back to old school Shiina Ringo. She made a small departure to more avantgarde on Ringo no Uta and Karuki Seieki Kuri no Hana, as well as her Mayonaka no Junketsu CD-single. Tokyo Jihen turns back to the punk-rock genre she did on Zecchoushuu, Shouso Strip and Muzai Moratorium.
