There was a joke going around about her negative press I thought was cute.

She has a meeting with the Pope in Italy and they go out in his gondola. His big Papal hat blows off into the water. Sarah says she will get it and hops out of the boat, she walks across the water and retrieves his hat and walks back across the water and gets back in the boat. The next day the headlines read , "SARAH CAN'T SWIM!"

In reality, she doesn't get nearly as much negative press as she deserves. She evidently thinks the USA is at war with Iran:

I doubt very much if her de facto declaration of war will get much, if any, attention on the network news or in major newspapers. I heartily concur with the person who commented (elsewhere): "The mainstream media didn't make Palin out to be stupid and corrupt. Palin did this all to herself."

that Palin either has no understanding of the First Amendment (to the US Constitution) or wilfully misrepresents it. I strongly suspect that she simply has the attitude, so common among those on the right, that she is entitled to make whatever self-serving statements she thinks she can get away with, and since she is Ideologically Sound/Theologically Correct/Truly Patriotic, nobody should criticize her.

Lost in the mail together with the authorization to release military records that John Kerry promised four years ago. (Remember him? He was the one everybody here was so gaga about in 2004. Strange how all his fervent supporters dropped him like a hot rock once it was over. Same will happen to whoever loses in 2008).

Even though Kerry did not release all the the military records he said he would:

Kerry refuses to release more records

he still released more of his military records than Palin has of her medical records. She probably figured, with considerable justification, that nobody in the mainstream media would have the guts to follow up on this matter.

It's ironic that the usual suspects still sneer at John Kerry even though King George II has proven to be such a disastrously bad President.
