Wife brought a selection of sake cups back from her mother's (some guests are coming), she noticed what this one said, and says it's from the Meiji period, probably connected to the russo-japanese war. She found some on auction, about ¥1000, so not particularly scarce/valuable.
There could be more at her mother's, these are what she brought. The larger bowl is not a sake cup but all the small ones go in that, inverted and piled up. The few that are upside down there on the counter just have a plain inside.
