I noticed there are many foreign nationals working in the recruitment/job placement industry in Japan. Do you know the reason for this trend? Is it because of the certain skill sets of those professionals, regardless of their nationality? I heard the recruitment/job placement/headhunter makes lots of cold calling to the hiring managers (and they also field the potential candidates to fill in the positions for their clients).

It's probably because they can speak the foreigners' language better than the Japanese recruiters.

Cold calling is the way of life for a recruiter/headhunter.

If you are in the recruitment / headhunter profession, what would be the typical career path? Does the experience as a headhunter help you get a position in the other companies in finance, trading, service, fast moving consumer goods, and others? I guess it would be awkward for an active headhunter to ask other recruitment or placement agency to find him an opportunity outside the recruitment industry.
