Hello everyone, i soon plan to open a small business in my hometown. In this context, i will have to interact, by written exchanges with my japanese commercial partners.
My question to you is : are there some kinds of cultural specificities regarding japanese business relations. Do i have, in order to seem reliable and pleasant to my interlocutors, to mention or instead avoid some fields/terms?

Your help would be very useful to me, thank you.

The way you write, it sounds like you already have Japanese partners. How are you communicating now?

If I misread, just what sort of means to you intend to use to contact them from France?

And, yes, to answer your question, there most certainly are "cultural specificities" regarding business dealings with Japanese. You need to study this pretty thoroughly. Frankly, I don't see how you plan to attract any business interests all the way there.

I have no idea what you mean by mentioning or avoiding "some fields/terms". Can you clear that up? Just being pleasant goes with any business dealing.

Here is a book that I found extremely helpful to better understand Japanese communication (it is focused on business but applies to pretty much to all types of relationships; the difference are so big!):

Different games, different rules: how Americans and Japanese misunderstand each other

It is supposed to compare only American communication with Japanese communication but most of it applies to other Western languages as well (my native language is French and I found it userful)

Bonne lecture
