Sony will bring out 2 new versions of the PSP, the Tsukimi and the Kachofugetsu.
Both will be packed with a display holder, and an extra heavy battery. The psp's will cost 31.500 yen.

I was wondering, did I read somewhere that the PSPs were backward compatible? If that's the case I might look into to getting one.

ohh. but aren't region codes just for DVDs? The PSP uses UMD, or memory cards, neither of which utilize region codes. Or perhaps that is what you were referring to.

It's almost odd that Sony wouldn't try to incorporate some kind of region code into UMDs. These days I expect them to shoot themselves in the foot anytime they release a product.

I guess regional coding may just be for DVDs/CDs, but I guess being that Sony is trying to make UMD the defacto Sony media at the moment I thought they would've encoded it.

It's good to hear that they haven't. I wonder what will happen with UMD movies as that's the biggest reason regional codings have been implemented.
