DEVOUR... POOOORK!!! *crazy black metal shredding with mental cowbell*Not healthy ??It's the heart of the Okinawan diet -- the island of pork.
Which explains why in the rest of the country, even Kanto these days, we have beef as a starring role in most meat dishes !

Just stick to fish. I would. I don't like pork myself, so I would also avoid it. Now lamb is a different matter. Do they do much in the way of lamb dishes in Japan?
Soba/udon noodles in soup are dashi based seasoned with soy sauce, mirin etc., if alcohol that MAY NOT evaporate fully when cooked or is produced by a process of bean fermentation (eg miso soup) would also be considered non halal.Hezam: There are Halal restaurants, you just need to look for them. A friend of mine took me to one near Takadanobaba station in Tokyo; it was pretty decent but a little pricier than the non-halal restaurants in the area (tons of Indian places around there, as it's located near the Indian embassy).
Stay away from Ramen, as I believe the broth contains pork, not to mention Cha-siu. Cheers!

Just don't forget not to drink, though, when someone pours you a glass...
Should just be avoided, full time.Fast food such as McDonald's should be avoided as they sometimes use lard for fried potatoes.
That's really good ! but of course the prise is more expensive than the other Japanese non-Halal restaurants. There are many nice Turkish restaurants in Tokyo.
You can ask them if all the dishes are ha窶塲誕l (as sometime not all of them are so.)
There's a very nice very near to our office, I and my colleague go there at least once a week for lunch.
Yes,"safe" sounds weird and funnyAs other posters mentioned, there are many Indian restaurants, many of them are offering vegetarian dishes, so that's very "safe" for you.
Yes it's not hard to avoid pork, they just order another meals/meat....In our office we often customers who are Muslim, and we often invite them for dinner at Japanese/Italian/Turkish/Tunisian/Indian restaurants as it is not difficult to avoid pork/meat at these places.
it's good point, becuause some people here who depends on McDonald's won't notice that.Fast food such as McDonald's should be avoided as they sometimes use lard for fried potatoes.

I am really happy to hear about your kindness and the way you deal with some special people,it may bother some poeple like my friend said :
A Japanese person was eating pork in the same table, and when he knew that i am Muslim he stood up and apologized,do you know why? he thought the pig is a holy animal to Muslims
