Hi guys I received an invitation to participate in a conversation group.
One line of the invitation reads 是非お友達をお誘いあわせの上ご参加ください。
I get the idea that it is saying please invite your friends, but what is the grammar behind の上?
よろしくお願いします

Think about the situation and it should be pretty apparent. Tell us your best guess at it first.

My guess would be the 上 would be the equivalent to above or beyond in English.
e.g. not just you, the invitation is extended beyond to your friends.

Consider that the construction is essentially:

{action 1} の上 {action 2}

Do you understand that 誘いあわせ is the verb-stem noun form of a single compound verb? (誘い合わせる)?

Yes I understand the noun stem so it means discussing together.
Is it similar to 上で grammar point?
Upon discussing with your friends please participate?

誘う doesn't mean "discuss"...

Also あう and あわせる are different. Be careful there. (The latter is transitive).

Sorry I meant ask each other.
So if it is transitive I am to ask/gather my friends to participate

Which would have been あい

Gather and then participate. You got it!

Having done {action 1}, {action 2}

The dictionary has the explanation about that usage of 上.

Thanks mikesan,
I appreciate your patience.
I will see if I can put this into practice.
