Particles "o" and "ga"

Hi all. I just started taking Japanese about two weeks ago. Apart from memorizing vocabulary, I think I am getting along pretty well. There is one thing that I am thoroughly confused with though and that is the use of the particles "o" and "ga". Am I correct in understanding that they are both used to indicate the object of a verb? Does that mean I can use either one of them?

Example:

Eiga o mimasu. Can I also say "Eiga ga mimasu" ?

If this is wrong, when do I know to use "ga" then?

Any advice would be appreciated.

no, they are not interchangeable like that.

Do a search on the forum for "particles" and a ton of resources will come up.

it's a shortened version of gaikokujin, foreigner.

I also recommend this textbook. I've been using it for a year and it's very fun and helpful.
