Hi everyone!

I have been accepted to work for NOVA and I signed a drug-test consent form. I smoke weed pretty regularly and plan to quit before I leave, but how often are people tested before leaving Japan? And how much notice is given if you are selected? If anyone could give me an idea, that would be great.

A Drugs-test... what... are we now doing profesional sports or something?

Can't believe where we are going sometimes haha.

You say that, but, really, the drugs that they're testing for are illegal to begin with. And rightly so. Furthermore, I think the cases in which an employee using drugs has proven more beneficial than detrimental to the success of his or her company are few and far between.

(And sorry for the off-topic post)

Testing for drugs in Japan is ike checking a camel to see if it's smuggling icecubes in Egypt... Sure it happens, not to any sort of epidemic level--- its controled largely by relations with Korea... And people can live ordinary lives free of 'refer-madness' and hold respectable jobs.

I think its rather a waste of time, and signing a waiver doesn't mean they'll do it.... Don't worry you wont be able to find it in Japan on your own to do it anyways---

It doesn't take that long if you're in Tokyo. My suggestion is to get it out of your system now. Unlike the old days, the police seem to be cracking down on just about all chemicals, no matter how harmful they aren't to your body. It's also pricey.
