"Jyoya no Kane"
I go to a temple at about 23:00 of December 31 and hit ringing bells on New Year's Eve.
"Hatu moude"
I come back to a house and take a bath once.
I visit a shrine for a new year in a
Shinto shrine after having cleansed the body.
"Hatu hinode"
Afterwards,
I climb a mountain and watch the first sunrise of a new year.
"otoso"
If I returned to a house,
I do greetings of the New Year to a family.
I drink toso,
I eat Zouni (soup containing vegetables and rice cakes for New Year's Day).
I eat Osechi.

"Otoshidama"
A child of a relative comes for greetings of the New Year,
I give Otoshidama to them.
I take parents to hot spring Ryokan the next day.
This is how to spend my New Year holidays.
