I'm going to Japan in September with my fiance. We're interested in purchasing mokume gane rings. I know you can get them online, but we'd prefer custom made ones from Japan. Is there any place that sells these for a reasonable price? Or is there a place where I could even buy a hunk of sword metal so we could make the rings ourselves?
 
Yes that's it. It's a style of metal that looks like damascus steel. I'd like to purchase that style of ring directly from Japan when I go there in Sept. Ideally I'd like a ring made out of actual sword metal, but that may be asking for too much!
 
Wow, my wife and I have mokumegane wedding rings that we purchased from mokumeganeya in Tokyo.

They're not cheap, but awesome things usually are not.

They also have an office in Osaka, and I think I heard they are going to be expanding more as well.
