And I actually love all the styles of mana, but the new is just great! he does have the old type of feeling to the new "album look" its great^^
And now its just 18 days till I leave for Berlin^^

The bad part is that you cant bring a camera or take any pictures of the show what so ever! doh! but there will probably be posted live pics over the net!

when it comes to merch.. Im soo broke that I can barely afford them myself! I had to borrow loads of money from my other friends who are joining me^^;;
Seems like I have to sacrifice the punkrock fesyival feat. Misfits and Sham 69.. but its sooooo worth it^^

Im sorry my dear, but cash is quite low for me its a miracle that I actually can go! going to be lots of food and travel expences.. doh! and offcource I hope to get a t-shirt at the concert at least..

wonder what they will do after it.. hmmm...... Heh.. I will now get all theire singles and the albums in about ten days^^ woo! Even though I already got all the singles in disc two from the ltd edt of Nocturnal Opera heh.. Im getting a bit Moi Dix Mois fanatic

Ok, ok - I haven't yet got around to *whispers* (you-know-what... that activity that shall not be mentioned ) but when I do, I will count you in, Hide.

Ah, I listened to most of Beyond the Gate today! I listened to it all but not the instrumental tracks yet... and I put it on my player, so the order came out random, hehe. I can write what I think about the different tracks... but if anyone hasn't listened yet, I don't want to give ideas...

Anyway, I like the album... Before, I kept saying how their songs sounded kinda 'similar'... well, they still do a bit, but I still like the album anyway... I think maybe the similarity is due to timing/pace as well as intervals, because I noticed they seem to use quite a lot of rapid and even notes. As well as melodic minor and possibly Locrian mode... but I'm not sure about this... I could just be imagining it because I'm a little obsessed with Locrian mode at the moment...

Seth is certainly a good vocalist and I like his voice; my only criticism is that it would be nice to have heard more of his 'clear' singing - there is quite a lot of growling on this album, and although he does 'sing' on it too, it seems rather quiet; I think that's just the way it's mixed.

The drumming is very good!

Wow! Thanks for your review! Im certainly excited about MdM getting their own drummer and I can only immagine it doing good things for them. (twiddles thubs and waits for own cd to arive).

Seth growls alot? o.o Wow didnt see that one comming. BUt any change for the group right now is good change though right? Proves that theyre capable of packing up their bags and moving in a different direction.
 

Hmmm... Seems like MdM is moving more thowards melodic death-metal.. Cant wait to hear seth`s voice. I do hope his growling vocals are up to the standards, though I hoped that it wouldnt be any growling.. oh well.. Waiting for the First press edt to arrive in the mail.. might be in this week^^
 
Melodic death-metal is a good way of describing it. You can hear a really strong classical influence, and I think they've got the quiet/loud contrasts off a lot better on this album. A lot of the intervals/sequences do strike me as very 'Malice Mizer-ish' (although I hate to say it ><) but that's really hardly surprising, after all! I think that more variation in intervals and timing wouldn't come amiss, but it's still a good album.

Ah, Seth doesn't growl all of the time just more than I expected, too...

EDIT: and the riff in The Other Side In Blood (repeated again in The Other Side Of The Door) is nicked from Hall Of The Mountain King! Listen to it and tell me if I'm not right!

Cant wait to hear the elements of it in Moi Dix Mois^^ (to use that part actually is very typical norwegian blackmetalish^^ the song worshipped by the hardest pack of metalheads in this country^^)
 
Me too, I adore that piece of music!
 
:sing: :sing: I think the death style sounds really good. K's arrival was a wisper about the bands future sound but i were surprised when I heard Seth's growling. He's a good growler but not as good as for example norwegian growlers, hopefully he just need some time.:sing:*growl*

North Europeans growl the best, I think.
But I do like Seth's voice... I would have like to have heard it more powerfully on its own at some points, as well, though.

WOW! MUCC is cool^^ thank you very much! ^^ had to download the files at home and leave for school, so I just got home and right now Im listening to it^^ wee^^ great stuff^^
