mixi2 another twitter replacement released this week.

Just thought it might be interesting to those remembering or still using mixi. I do not expect this to take off like bluesky or threads. I do have an account but probably will not look at it much.

I remember Mixi. That was a while ago...

Yea much like myspace lol. I logged back into mine out of curiosity and it is still going but not a lot of activity. Mixi (not Mixi2) also wants to force you to finish watching a video ad before you can continue even in the app, I cannot imagine nontechnical users putting up with that bothersome behaviour. Mixi2 has none of that yet as they are trying to attract new users so they will wait before they push that. Meta on the other hand is looking at various ways to promote Threads service in Japan.
