Mitsubishi Plaque

Konnichiwa Ammojack-san!

This plate was likely attached to a ship. Since 70 to 80 percent of ships built during this period were large tankers, it was most likely attached to a tanker.

However, since some large bulk carriers were also being built, that possibility cannot be entirely ruled out.

In any case, I believe it is highly likely that it was a plate attached to the ship.

NANGI

I understand during that time period Texaco had some interest in Mitsubishi, perhaps this came off a Texaco ship, wonder what the name was, and the history?
