As I see there are new rules to the game lol.. Do you know when exactly your embassy sent the docs?
In your case, I think you will get it without question since your embassy has alrdy cut the number according to MEXT's budget reduction.I have some news. Today I had a brief talk with the local person who is responsible for the post-graduate program. I was told that just a few days before the embassy was about to send to MEXT the usual number of recommended candidates and all their documents and LoAs (11 people initially), MEXT suddenly asked them to recommend only 8 candidates. Therefore 3 people dropped in the last moment and their documents were not sent (despite some of them having already received their LoAs). Luckily, I'm in those 8, but I don't know what will happen in the next selection to be conducted by MEXT.
So I guess that's what happened in all countries - MEXT suddenly asked the embassies to send less recommended candidates than initially planned. My question now is, does anyone know if MEXT usually gives the scholarship to all the candidates recommended by the embassies, or they usually cut out some more people?

I hope as both of you hope and I think it will be a great thing but I had already received a formal letter from the embassy indicating that they are going to reduce the number, I do not want to disappoint any person but that what happen for me, I wish the opposite will happen and they are going to retract what they said,I hope so and I wish good luck for every person:?:?:?:?When I asked the lady at the education section of Japanese Embassy, She said that there is no such thing as budget cut from MEXT =_=
I don't know if this is an act of trying to hiding it from applicants or maybe MEXT really didn't notify Indonesia Japanese Embassy at all? Or maybe MEXT didn't cut any applicants from Indonesia? (hoping that such a dream would come true)

I think that the only thing that we could do is to continue our life as normal as was in the past.. however this is some kind of difficult u.u Therefore, we have to pray and put all to God's hands.. also ask for patience. I am electronic Engineering but I would like to follow my post graduate studies in Mechanical engineering, in the department of bioengineering at Tohoku univ. In malaysia we received no information about the budget cut, the ranking by embassy or the embassy people actually did not send our documents to mext... so i am not sure how good or how bad the situation is.
but i believe that we have been in waiting since so many months ago. so unless we receive official announcement from mext, we shdnt give up so quickly

They agree with my proposal, however I thought they are going to refuse it from the first sight, but may be I am lucky they agree with it and unlucky as I omitted from the regular candidate list:?:?wow, stem cell is the field I want to enter when I was thinking about making my mext proposal, but since I cannot find a suitable professor and university (maybe I didn't search hard enough), so I switched to biodegradable plastic.

MEXT requested him to confirm that I'm accepted in the university and whether they have the capacity to accommodate me; and he replied with: YES!
Now I just have to wait for the final approval from MEXT....
