Hello everyone,

So my girlfriend and I have decided to tie the knot and are planning to start living together around August of this year. We have narrowed the options down to the suburbs of Kyoto (she's a Kyoto-ite) or southern Tokushima (my home away from home), but have not done any concrete research as of yet. As I am the more computer savvy of the two of us I'm hoping to find what I can find on that front but I am not sure where would be best to start looking. Can anyone recommend any good places to find online real estate listings and the like?

If you go to a neighborhood bookstore (or perhaps even a convenience store) you can find monthly magazines listing all sorts of real estate. They're usually available for a very nominal price.

Your wife would probably have much better savvy to find housing. Just think of an area, and visit the real estate agents that cater to it.

Jimmy,

I came across this link: http: //www . foreclosedjapan . com/ I think you can see by the site that it deals in foreclosed and distressed properties.

My wife and I (She is from Suita City Osaka) are looking at buying a newly built home or just buying some property from this business and then seeking out a builder. No definite plan as of yet, we are still researching and seeing what other information people can add.

Also look up Daiwa House on yahoo . co . jp I am sure your wife can help you read it. My wife and I have been looking over it for a couple of weeks and there are some very promising designs.

The mean cost per home seems to be $500,000 with taxes. Prices are adjusted for the cost of the property, city taxes, etc.

You will pay through the nose for Daiwa House or PanaHome...both are extremely expensive.

Good luck to both of you though.
