Anyway everytime i think about the things at fanime in the sequence that they happened- and also the way that kamijo behaved at the dinner- i find it increasingly difficult to imagine him 'off limits'.... like pixy said~ he was offering. not only that. but he grabbed at my arm and almost bit it. it scared the living crap out of me but i must say- he's got a nice, firm grip, that one.
I think it might just be that he was enjoying the informality of things. 1. because its not in every country that there's one form of speech with which you speak to EVERYONE you meet- and you call almost ANYONE by their first name. and 2. When you're not very good at speaking a language, but you're trying your best- you need to be able to laugh it off well.

By the way. someone calculate the longevity of that shirt's life. and remember, he wears the collars closed when hes got the cravat on. his make up (i observed during dinner) goes almost up to his clavicles. when your sweat and foundation have been rubbing into fabric for that many years.... its almost impossible to get it out.

haha... yes i remember this. all of this. i did grab your boobs, didn't i? they were begging me, i swear.

*sigh...* actualllllly. i didnt really know about any of you. all i knew was that inertia was going to be there and in the back of my mind, i thought quietly to myself.... maybe i will recognize her. and then what? just say "hello, i like your costume" i guess and then leave... but then it was after almost two whole days of being there alone, that she finally caught my eye. and i was desperate... i was lonelY!
i hadn't spoken to a soul (mind, roommates) for long long time. and so i finally walked up to her, asked her to take a picture. complimented her as planned. AND THEN I FROZE. i didn't want to leave, but i had nothing to say.. and i didn't want to bother her either.. i didn't have the courage to just ask her straight out " can i tag along beside you for the next four days??!" and there was an awkward moment of silence after which we both smiled and complimented eachother on how cute we were. hAHA... then TADA!! kamijo walked by and saved the day. i saw two girls on the side, who i had never seen before start to jump up and down (kaine and pixy) and inertia suddenly flinched and said " that was him! the guy i'm cosplaying! he just walked by!" ehhehe.... then we all decided to follow him.. the two girls went to look for him through the back door... but while they were gone, he came out through the front door and walked right by us. inertia jumped behind me and said "hide me." but i stepped aside and of course she caught his attention. =] they bowed to eachother, and as soon as he left... kaine and pixy came back. you two were so dissapointed that you'd missed him!!.. little did we know we'd run into him... TOO MANY times after that. i fell in love with you girls at first sight.

think about it, the kamijno invasion is happening in time slot competition with the deg influx and hyde's possible shake yo booty to the states move too.
 
still??? well i mean.. i think... a lot of bands are coming over and conquering the us =D and good for them!!! its about time we had REAL music =P haha but perhaps its caz kamijo saw the sucess of the DEG in the us??? who knows =P maybe kamijo might still experiment around the places? i dunno =)
 
Ok, I need to share this. So during the Friday dinner, I asked Kamijo if he would go to Boston. At that point he said that he would try. Then, on Sunday during the autograph session he said, "See you again." I quickly replied to him, "In Boston." He then replied, "See you again in Boston." After seeing him so many times because I kept getting in line with the excuse of getting autographs, he got into the habit of saying "See you again in Boston," without hesitating. I can't wait for him to come back! I will fly across the country again for him when he comes, but it would be awesome for him to visit Boston.
 
Kaine - I'm sorry I didn't answer when you called me! It never rang and my phone didn't show any calls at all. Not like Sunday morning, when I just didn't hear it ringing. ~oops~

I think I'd go see Kamijo/Lareine almost anywhere. I'd probably go if there was a European performance and I also really want to see them peform in Japan now. My poor budget wouldn't like more than one trip a year, though.

There's been a rise of Lareine activity in general recently. They seem to have started to more aggressively promote themselves around the time of the 10th Anniversary events. Kamijo didn't pay for his performance here. He was Jhouserock/Jpophouse's guest. I have no idea what he was paid for something like that (it couldn't have been much), but he wouldn't have had to finance it himself. I'm sure he's a capable business manager and he wouldn't do anything to jeopardize Lareine. As much as he might like to come back, he can't do it without the interest of American/English-speaking promoters.
That's why so many people were ecstatic about the turnout at Fanime! The larger-than-expected fan response really shows the companies involved that Kamijo/Lareine is supported here and not as much of a financial risk as they might have thought before.

Hopefully, someone will want to help finance another appearance or even a mini-tour!

I wonder if/when they will put up a form at Jhouserock for feedback?
 
bah! Its more than the monies to worry about though. 400 or so people might seem like a lot untill you think about how that 400 stands up against the american music industry. I mean its all ready been well established that americans like american only music and as it is i thin that the best diru can do at the moment is to land themselves on ramstien type fame here in the us. But kamijo's music is just so different than anything else we're used to hearing and I'm worried about how it will go over with american fans. I mean a jrock invasion is good but one at a time might be better? Or worse? I mean if any band is gonna make it it will most likely be the ones that are more poppular back home. And while there is a good chance of penitrating the american market we know that it's a dtreth to think it will happen on the same level as the black eyed peas or what not.
 
not only are 400 people not quite a lot, but at least a good quarter or even half of the turnout had to be coincidental. Anime fans were there and decided to join in because, hey! how often do you say you got to meet a jrocker? and a free performance? 5 dollars for a picture?... not bad, right? not to sound totally negative, but it honestly had to be. and if they came, they'd definitely have to go to a major city- because it will be very difficult for most people who would easily go to a local concert, to actually fly and find accomodations for a one night event. Someone really should make a poll... im curious to see what the turnout would really be. in various cities
 
^^ I'm sure kamijo will know what to do if he wants to do a full on live here no worries its not like he wants to be super popular or anything just wants to spread the world of romance to US is all!! I think if they do perform hope too that they do it maybe later on in the year ee.. but if they wanna do it in a convention again ..it will be kinda hard cause I think the only con around end of year is jrockcon and its in its second year dunno maybe they'll try doing it in a venue but that's risking it tho..if they do Promote please!!cause I remember when despairs'ray came to CA they had litte/no promotion and the venue ended up half empty they haven't been back since hmm..-_- I would be sad to see lareine concert like that..
 
I think 400 people at an anime convention is a pretty good turnout to keep people interested in bringing Kamijo/Lareine to the US. There are lots of bands that are convention-only acts right now because it's really the only place they can find people interested in Japanese music. I don't agree that Americans only like American-only music; just English-only music. I think that's mostly because we're not encouraged to learn foreign languages here and we don't have a lot of exposure or access to foreign media.

Lareine isn't going to break into the American music scene. They're not even going to try. When/if they come back, it will be to play for their fans and get more exposure from anime fans and other visual band fans. I doubt the average American music fan even knows about the Japanese bands performing here. They might see one or two performing as an opening act for an American band but if they don't go to anime conventions, they won't ever hear about the rest.

As for the American music industry...there are countless good bands that can only draw in a 400 person audience...if that. We have our indies bands, too. There's several I'd like to see get more exposure and popularity than they have but the mainstream wouldn't accept them, either. Very few bands actually gain the popularity of the big arena/stadium bands....

I agree about most people showing up out of curiosity. But how many of the curious people enjoyed Kamijo's performance? How many bought a CD or two and became a new Lareine fan? How many would come back on purpose to see him again?

I don't think they'll be back this year. They still have to find a new drummer, have him learn the songs, get used to performing together, and complete whatever upcoming projects they might have in Japan. Have they toured this year? They probably need to do that, too. I hope they come back next year. ^_^
 
hahahah man... as long as they come =) yup yup... plus... its lareine, they wont be making a break here =) but kamijo seems to just be content with sharing the romance around =P i mean... look at dir en grey... their like... OUT there and they're barely making a break here =P so... watever =) haha as long as lareines performance sells out?? =P i dont want their concert to turn out like BLOOD's =P sorry... but the tickets been out for months now... and theres still a lot left -_- hahahaha i dont know...
im wondering if we even have to go to the place early?? haha i dunno if there will even be a line?
 
._. yea they havent sold out yet I'm kinda worried poor kiwamu actually seems happy to see tickets were sold not caring they havent sold out I feel sad if they dont all sell by august good chance won't be huge line wait.. ^^ okay I'm off topic now hehe I hope lareine can get a drummer soon so they can at least release some new material be cool..
 
HAHAHA i seriously wonder if they'll recruit machi =P even if its just for support drummer??? hehehe i wonder what machi looks like now =P or what he'll look like when he has the new lareine look added to him =P

I'm embarrassed... ^^;;; You guys are too sweet, I don't know what to say. I was just really happy to meet other fans who were so friendly and so much fun to hang out with. To tell the truth, I was a little worried about how it would go. Between my reverse culture shock, and all the horrible stories I've heard from friends about some of the things that happen at visual kei concerts in the US, I was afraid I'd end up in fights with everyone! ^^; I was so glad to be able to make friends instead.

Kaine, the cologne I wear for cosplaying is Chanel Platinum Egoiste. It's not accurate for cosplay... Kamijo did say he wore it in one interview, but I don't think anyone has ever smelled it on him. I just wear it because I like it. ^^

Sorry to be a downer, but I think if there was a serious possibility of Machi coming back to Lareine, he'd already be a part of the band by now. I mean, even if he moved and they didn't have his new phone number, they could surely get it by contacting his family or mutual friends. I think either he doesn't want to rejoin, or they don't want him back.

haha. im sure Kamijo was a romantic. im sure he didn't walk around holding a rose and throwing cheezy lines at girls, but he had to have been born a dreamer. usually its just always... in you. i know that i was born a hopeless romantic... and there's really no changing that (no matter how hard i try). =] and i always admired people like him... because now that hes an artist, he can actually go out and do something with that. and CREATE it and mold it into something. i think it's beautiful. i showed my friend a lareine video once... and (aside from being kinda freaked out) she was like " it's like...theyre in a whole other world by themselves..." and i said " that's the point." heheh like kaine and i were talking about last night. Lareine is like a dream. KAMIJO is like a dream... HAHAH and of course if any practical, non-dreamers came in here and read this, they'd be like... what kind of sappy nonsensical bullshit is this? hehehe but its my LIFEE... and its kinda fun, ey?

i only wish we could do this forever and not work. i said this when i got back from the con a million times but... man.. reality sucks
