Language mentor/Language exchange

Hi!

One upon a time, I knew basic Japanese and now I'm trying to get back into it partially out of interest and partially to prepare myself for a trip to Japan in a few years. I've tried a few different ways of learning but nothing really sticks because of a horrid lack of practice. So, I decided to learn by translating Manga. It's something I do frequently enough, so it should help in keeping my reading and writing up.

The one I'm working on currently is in the shojo category and the cute way of speaking is really a challenge to me. I'm working really hard to properly romanize everything but I'm having a hard time looking up words in the dictionary to piece together meanings because of the alterations to the words to make them sound cute.

Is there anyone here who would be willing help me out by mentoring me in the language. The questions will be many to begin with, but I learn quickly! Also, I'm very fluent in English and can be an English mentor/teacher/penpal in exchange.

It's free, and you can post your translation like entries in diary/blog. Native or fluent speakers will correct errors or suggest better wording, etc. I think it is much better to have teachers instead of just one.
