Hello everyone

I am 18 years old student from Lithuania (yehh, I know you never heard of it.. )

So I was looking for information on JP language and found this forum and it's really awesome, it's so active

I just started learning Japanese, so I barely know anything... Why have I chosen to learn it? Ever since I found this language interesting and their culture. I like watching anime, reading manga, eating Japanese foods and I would really like to talk/understand their language at least a little. I also have a friend who is learning Japanese at the moment, so It would be great for me as well.

This would be my second foreign language. My mother tongue is Lithuanian, I can talk English pretty well as well. I was also forced to be learning Russian for 4 years.... But I hate It! Because of that I'm very bad at Russian. So I consider knowing 2 languages - English and Lithuanian. Basically I know only one "worth-knowing/popular" language, that is English. Knowing more languages is important. Since I like Japanese the most, I chose it

I hope someday I will go to Japan and eat their ramen

You're fortunate to speak Russian. Every language is a key.

Anyhow, welcome to the forum, nice to have you on board.

Thank you.

Well I don't know if it's fortunate. I speak it poorly and I mean really.... I'm not saying that knowing it is bad, but for some reason I really don't like their language as well as their culture... So I was irresponsible at Russian lessons. Anyway, I really like Japanese and if I like it I will learn It

Hey, Dumax. Ain't that Doctor Stein of Soul Eater on your avatar? =)
I would argue that russian language is not worth-knowing. But as for russian culture - there's no more culture per se, so i guess you can't like what does not exist =)

Anyway, welcome, and good look with your japanese endeavours! I suggest you jump right in by mastering the kana first =)

Thank you!

Yes It's Dr. Stein from Soul Eater.

I didn't say Russian is a worthless language or at least I didn't mean that. It's useful language, popular. But I don't like it very much. There's also slightly Russians in Lithuania. Most of them are alcoholics, aggressive, rude, bullies. I don't wont to offense Russians, but in my country when I hear someone speaking Russian don't wish for good....
